Six-Word Saturday #75

Posted on: March 25, 2016

Moving forward with my writing life

After I dropped my novel this summer, I turned all my writing efforts towards blogging for a local animal welfare group. And it’s been good.

Not only have I built up my stamina to write multiple weekly posts for them, but I’ve also begun to vary the type of post I write. Sometimes I write a researched one, other times a personal one, and every now and then I even produce a top ten tips post. I’ve begun to experiment in other ways too. For example, at times I might make use of secondary research or online articles while other times I might make use of primary research or in-person interviews. And then there’s my style. Recently, I’ve started trying to diversify my leads. I might use an anecdote, description, statistic, or quote to begin my first paragraph. Ah, the joys of getting to challenge myself to grow as a creative person.

But there’s even more than just the above initiatives. I’m also browsing blogs, chatting with other pet bloggers, and then asking ones to contribute a post. In other words, I’ve begun to do my part to expand and promote our local animal welfare group’s blog. Recently, the group asked me about doing press releases for them too. Guess what I’ll be learning about this weekend?

As you can see then, at least when it comes to my writing endeavors, March has been a better month. How about you? What has this past week or month brought to you?

Hope you’ll pick back up your novel some time!

Giving up on my novel was one of my better decisions this year.

Fab . . .I seem to go from floods to droughts with my posts!

It is good to see you at 6ws again. Happy writing!

I have been a little more productive with my crocheting again, and trying to be more organized with my work schedule.

It’s nice to be back at 6WS. Happy crocheting!

it all sounds positive on several fronts. 🙂 Happy Easter to you!

Thank you. Happy Easter to you too!

Interestingly, I’ve been doing some of the same sort of analysis…

I look forward to hearing what you decide!

I’m glad this venue is working out so well for you. Looks like it has your creative juices flowing. That’s a good thing.

Have a fabulous day. ☺

Yes, I feel invigorated writing about pets and animal welfare. It’s a good choice!

Best of luck with your writing! I’ve delved back into a hi-lo manuscript I started a few years ago, discovering it’s a pleasure to revisit old projects.

All the best with your old projects! Mine are all new. 🙂
