Critter Photo #12

Posted on: May 2, 2016

AwwwMondays-Puppy-AvatarWith our household of critters having expanded to include three cats and a dog, I thought it fitting to join a meme related to pets. After searching around, I came across Awww….. Mondays. The one rule is: “Post a picture that makes you say Awww…. and that’s it.” Every photo seemed to feature a pet and so the meme is a perfect fit.

Bootsie is an ever so hesitant cat. Before she’ll enter an unfamiliar area, she’ll sniff at the entrance and look both ways. If we bring home a new cat bed or scratching post, she’ll stare at it and then slowly approach it. Even with toys, I often hear her play with it in secret, before she’ll choose to try using it around the family.

She’s also an ever so polite girl. When there’s food about, Bootsie will often just sit and wait for a piece to be offered her. No obnoxious coaxing like the rest of the critters! If the family lounges on the recliner, Bootsie will hang back until everyone’s settled before she jumps into the mix. She’s respectful of space! And when Andy or I are running about, she just stays out of our way. No tripping will happen because of her!

Her shy personality is why it’s so fun when she demands attention. If she’s wanting some love, Bootsie will paw at me. She’ll head butt. She might even lick my fingers to encourage me. And if I let her, she’ll climb onto my lap and purr in anticipation of attention. Sweet and funny girl!

It is so nice to have a forever friend. Bootsie seems content and happy. Love seeing the furry friends settling into forever homes. enjoy your weekend.

Thanks for dropping by! I think Bootsie approves of the safe and loving environment she gets now by being an indoor cat. 🙂

It’s actually wonderful when a shy cat slowly opens up and starts interacting for attention. You can literally drop anything just to see what the kitty wants xD

Our other two cats are probably at times jealous. I’m often telling Bootsie how brave she is and stopping to recognize her growth.

Bootsie sounds sweet!

Bootsie is super sweet!

what a sweet cat! Tabbies are a special kind of cat- so easy going!

Our two tabbies definitely are easy-going. In contrast, our tortie is a little more high-maintenance. 😉

Awww, she’s adorable and she loves her mom.

Thank you so much for joining Awww Mondays. It’s most appreciated.

Have a purrfect Awww Monday. ☺

Thank you for hosting Awww Mondays. The meme encourages me to create bi-weekly stories about our pets. I enjoy talking about all of them. Yes, Bootsie does seem to love having a forever family and home.

Summer Reviews

Books can take connect us with strangers, take us to unique places, and introduce us to new ideas. They can also offer hope in a chaotic world. And so I must share what I read!

Each week, I’ll introduce you to religious books, Advanced Reader Copies, animal books, or diversity books. Some I’ll review as singles and others as part of round-ups. Just ahead, there will be reviews of:

  • The True Story of the World’s Most Beloved Animal Sanctuary by Samantha Glen
