With our household of critters having expanded to include three cats and a dog, I thought it fitting to join a meme related to pets. After searching around, I came across Awww….. Mondays. The one rule is: “Post a picture that makes you say Awww…. and that’s it.” Every photo seemed to feature a pet and so the meme is a perfect fit.

Bootsie is an ever so hesitant cat. Before she’ll enter an unfamiliar area, she’ll sniff at the entrance and look both ways. If we bring home a new cat bed or scratching post, she’ll stare at it and then slowly approach it. Even with toys, I often hear her play with it in secret, before she’ll choose to try using it around the family.

She’s also an ever so polite girl. When there’s food about, Bootsie will often just sit and wait for a piece to be offered her. No obnoxious coaxing like the rest of the critters! If the family lounges on the recliner, Bootsie will hang back until everyone’s settled before she jumps into the mix. She’s respectful of space! And when Andy or I are running about, she just stays out of our way. No tripping will happen because of her!

Her shy personality is why it’s so fun when she demands attention. If she’s wanting some love, Bootsie will paw at me. She’ll head butt. She might even lick my fingers to encourage me. And if I let her, she’ll climb onto my lap and purr in anticipation of attention. Sweet and funny girl!
